The Witcher 3 PC Update Planned To Resolve Issues, CDPR Investing All Problems

The Witcher 3 has also received a major facelift on PC with a next-generation update, but this comes with a lot of problems including performance issues.

As we have already covered in this best settings guide for The Witcher 3 on PC, the game seems to suffer from issues like stuttering and crashes on a PC. We experienced it firsthand on two different PCs and it was a horrible experience, to say the least. The recommended system requirements for The Witcher 3 on PC appear to list RTX 3080 as one of the GPUs, but even this one is unable to handle the new ray-tracing effects and Ultra+ quality.

There are also reports that this patch has downgraded the performance of the base game even if we disable ray-tracing, so this needs to be investigated as well.

The Witcher 3 developer CD Projekt Red has finally issued an official statement assuring the fans that they are looking into investing all the issues and will issue an update soon.

“We are aware of the issues PC players have been reporting since last night’s release of the update. We are actively investigating all of the reports and will be providing an update on particular issues as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience!” reads the tweet.

Hopefully, these issues are something that can be resolved soon because the game is currently quite brutal to run on a PC, taking the crown from the previous taxing game, Cyberpunk 2077. Heck, if your PC can run Cyberpunk 2077 with ray tracing, it shouldn’t be an issue in The Witcher 3 too, but this is not the case here at all.

The Witcher 3 is available now for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, PC, and Nintendo Switch. You can also learn more about the new content and features of this next-gen update which is out now.
