Gameplay footage from Hasbro and Splash Damage’s canceled Transformers Reactivate, featuring Bumblebee, has leaked online.
Twitter/X account DpzLuna, which is dedicated to sharing news and updates regarding Transformers Reactivate, has got a hold of brand new gameplay footage from the now canceled title. The video shared by them shows Bumblebee in action, as he fights and drives his way across a large open world map.
Based on the controller layout seen during the gameplay footage, Transformers Reactivate features two character-specific abilities and an ultimate attack. Players could dodge incoming attacks and boost to enhance mobility in addition to the ability to jump.
Bumblebee’s signature ability, called Thunder Crash, allow him to target an enemy and blink towards them to perform an AoE maneuver that stuns surrounding enemies. His ultimate ability, called Overcharge, gives a boost to his speed, allowing more static orbs to drop and Thunder Crash to inflict damage upon stunning enemies. Meanwhile, his passive ability, called Capacitor, allows him to extract static orbs, which replenish his Thunder Crash’s cooldown.
Back in December, 2022, screenshots from an early build of Transformers Reactivate appeared online, revealing some of the playable characters featured in the game, including Starscream, Slipstream, Hotrod, Soundwave, and Sunstreaker. From the looks of things, the story involved both the Autobots and Decepticons working together to combat a bigger foe that threatened the existence of the robots in disguise.
Transformers Reactivate was a 1-4 player online co-op game that was in development for PC and console. It was said to offer players the opportunity to explore a fresh story within the Transformers universe. Richard Jolly, CEO of Splash Damage, had called it an honor and a privilege to work with a beloved franchise that held a special place in his heart. On January 8, 2024, the studio announced its decision to end the game’s development.
