PlayStation Trophy collector Hakoom has claimed that Sony Interactive Entertainment staff leaked his personal information.
Abdul Hakam (aka Hakoom), who is known as the most prominent PlayStation Trophy collector out there, took to Instagram to highlight an issue he faced with Sony Interactive Entertainment staff that led to his personal information getting leaked.
In his message, the trophy collector mentioned that he recently discovered some corruption and oppression happening against him. According to him, the issue began on September 9, 2024, when his PSN account was suspended. He contacted PlayStation support, but their response offered no help and no clear reason was given for the suspension. He eventually reached out to the appropriate department for assistance, and they told him to wait while they investigated.
A few days later, Hakoom was informed him that his account details had been leaked, and that his account had been banned. He forwarded all this information to PlayStation, noting that there were leaks and account breaches affecting many people, as seen in the video.
According to the trophy hunter, instead of addressing the original reason for the suspension, Sony Interactive Entertainment responded by saying that his account was suspended because he earned platinum trophies in games that typically require 100 hours in just a few hours or minutes, had completed games with zero minutes played, created over 2,000 accounts on his PlayStation consoles, and logged in on 29 consoles. However, Hakoom argued that this is how the trophy system works, and that it’s possible to platinum a 100-hour game and then quickly “auto-pop” the trophy stack in seconds or minutes. He also highlighted that some games only take seconds to platinum, and if he had used hacks, trophy tracking website PSNProfiles would have banned him.
In response to Hakoom’s defense, Sony Interactive Entertainment staff stated that they would lift his ban after 45 days, though they maintained their stance on the violations. However, later, they also removed him from the PR list, pushing him to go public with his video message. He claims to have been treated like a “criminal”.
