Ubisoft Addresses Community Concerns with Major Updates Planned for Siege X

Ubisoft has issued a detailed update to the Siege X community, acknowledging player frustration over limited communication and ongoing gameplay issues. The studio pledged to improve transparency and address key community concerns, focusing on anti-cheat measures, balancing adjustments, and major revisions to ranked matchmaking. The announcement was made by creative director Alex Karpazis and game director Joshua Mills on behalf of the Siege development team.

The developers admitted that the transition to Free Access had led to a noticeable increase in cheating activity, outpacing the game’s current detection systems. Ubisoft stated that while progress has been made, additional resources have now been allocated to strengthen anti-cheat operations. Without providing technical specifics, the team confirmed it is targeting high-profile cheat distributors and plans to permanently ban users involved in exploiting known vulnerabilities.

On the gameplay front, Ubisoft plans to adjust its approach to balance changes based on player feedback. According to the developers, future updates will aim to create a more enjoyable experience by avoiding excessive nerfs and implementing more frequent buffs. In the upcoming patch 3.3, scheduled for release on October 14, Denari’s previous nerf will be reverted, and the character’s Glaive-12 weapon will be enhanced. Additionally, Solis will regain her impact grenades, and several operators including Thermite, Hibana, and Maverick are expected to receive buffs in Year 10 Season 4.

The studio also announced the introduction of the Testing Grounds, a new environment where players can provide early feedback on gameplay features before full implementation. The first feature to undergo testing will be a redesigned Armor and Speed system for operators, indicating a broader effort to refine the game’s mechanics ahead of future updates.

In terms of competitive play, Ubisoft acknowledged that Ranked 2.0 has not met expectations. The team outlined plans for an extensive ranked overhaul, beginning with matchmaking improvements in Season 4 that will take player rank and squad size into account. The larger update, tentatively titled “Ranked Overhaul,” will introduce visible skill progression and ranked rewards. Ubisoft expects to roll out this new system during the first half of Year 11, following consultation sessions and workshops scheduled for the Munich Major in November.

Karpazis and Mills also noted that recent seasonal content has been lighter as the team works to establish a more sustainable foundation for long-term updates. The developers are considering structural changes to provide more substantial mid-season content and intend to share further details at the upcoming major event.

Ubisoft concluded the message by reaffirming its commitment to community-driven development and encouraging ongoing feedback from players. The update comes as Siege approaches its tenth anniversary, marking a significant milestone for the franchise as it seeks to refine and modernize its competitive experience.
