SEGA has announced that Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. World Stage will launch on Nintendo Switch 2 on March 26, 2026, bringing the long-running 3D fighting franchise to a Nintendo platform for the first time. The game is already available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam, and the Switch 2 version will fully integrate with existing platforms.
The Nintendo Switch 2 release will support full cross-play, allowing players on Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam to compete against one another online. SEGA has also confirmed rollback netcode support, along with new moves and combos, balance adjustments, and improvements to the training mode, positioning this version as the definitive edition of Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O.
Ahead of launch, SEGA will host an open beta test for Nintendo Switch 2 starting February 18 at 7 pm PT / 10 pm ET. The beta is designed to evaluate network stability and cross-play functionality with other platforms. Players will be able to download the beta directly from the Nintendo eShop without needing a SEGA account.
Pre-orders for Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. World Stage on Nintendo Switch 2 are now live for both digital and physical editions. All players who pre-order any Switch 2 version of the game will receive a free Sega Hardware Customization Item titled “Genesis,” an in-game cosmetic inspired by classic SEGA hardware that can be equipped by all 19 base characters.
SEGA is offering a digital 30th Anniversary Edition priced at $49.99 USD. This version includes the base game, the Legendary Pack DLC, the Yakuza Series Collaboration Pack DLC, a Virtua Fighter 30th Anniversary Swimsuit Costume Set, a soundtrack collection, ranking titles, and Virtua Fighter pre-production artwork. A standard digital edition will also be available for $19.99 USD, with each DLC pack sold separately at launch.
For players who prefer physical media, a $49.99 USD physical edition will be available and will contain the same content as the 30th Anniversary Edition. This version also includes a double-sided poster featuring Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. World Stage artwork on one side and the original Virtua Fighter cover art on the other.
