Virtual Boy Games Coming to Nintendo Switch Online February 17

by Greg Martin

Nintendo has announced that Virtual Boy – Nintendo Classics will be added to Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack on February 17, 2026, bringing a curated selection of Virtual Boy titles to both Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2.

With an active Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership, players will gain access to a growing library of Virtual Boy games playable on modern hardware. The service will include system-level features such as suspend points for saving progress, rewind functionality to correct mistakes, and customizable control options.

At launch, seven Virtual Boy titles will be available:

  • Teleroboxer
  • Galactic Pinball
  • RED ALARM
  • GOLF
  • Virtual Boy Wario Land
  • 3-D TETRIS
  • The Mansion of Innsmouth

Nintendo highlighted gameplay examples across these titles, including boxing matches against robotic opponents in Teleroboxer and the use of depth-based platforming in Virtual Boy Wario Land. These selections represent a mix of action, sports, puzzle, and pinball experiences from the original platform’s catalog.

Nintendo has also confirmed that additional Virtual Boy titles will be released in the future. The list of upcoming games includes:

  • Mario Clash
  • Mario’s Tennis
  • Jack Bros.
  • Space Invaders Virtual Collection
  • Virtual Bowling
  • Vertical Force
  • V-Tetris
  • Zero Racers
  • RED ALARM

The announcement establishes Virtual Boy as the latest classic platform to join the Nintendo Switch Online ecosystem, following previous additions such as NES, SNES, Game Boy, Game Boy Advance, and Nintendo 64.

Nintendo further revealed that a dedicated Virtual Boy accessory will be released alongside the service. Two versions are planned: a plastic replica priced at $99.99 and a cardboard “Labo-style” version priced at $24.99. Both accessories allow players to insert their Nintendo Switch or Switch 2 system into a headset-like frame designed to replicate the original stereoscopic 3D viewing format.

In addition to the confirmed upcoming titles, Nintendo stated that Zero Racers will be joined by another never-before-released Virtual Boy game, D-Hopper, at a later date. The company has also introduced a color palette option that allows players to experience Virtual Boy games in grayscale rather than the original red-and-black display style.

Virtual Boy – Nintendo Classics will be accessible exclusively through the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack tier. Nintendo has not provided a full release schedule for future additions, but confirmed that the Virtual Boy library will continue to expand over time.
