A banner discovered on Walmart’s website, and shared via Reddit, appears to have leaked two previously unannounced GameCube titles that may be heading to Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack.
The banner displayed a promotional list of games available to play through Nintendo Switch Online. While most of the titles shown are already officially supported, two entries stood out as they have never been formally confirmed for inclusion in the service: Metroid Prime 2: Echoes and Pikmin 2.
The image lists Metroid Prime 2: Echoes under the GameCube platform category. The 2004 title follows Samus Aran as she explores the divided light and dark dimensions of the planet Aether. The game has not been announced for Nintendo Switch Online and remains unavailable through subscription access.
Pikmin 2 also appears in the banner. Originally released on GameCube in 2004, Pikmin 2 is already available on Nintendo Switch as a standalone digital purchase and as part of a bundle with Pikmin 1. The game follows Captain Olimar’s return to an alien world to collect treasure in order to repay his employer’s debt.
The remainder of the banner consists of well-known Nintendo Switch Online offerings across multiple classic platforms. Nintendo 64 titles shown include Yoshi’s Story, Mario Party 3, Mario Kart 64, Mario Golf, Star Fox 64, Super Mario 64, and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Other listings span SNES, NES, Game Boy, and GBA libraries, with several games identified as included in the base subscription tier.
Despite the attention surrounding the banner, it does not represent official confirmation from Nintendo. The origin, accuracy, and intent of the listing remain unclear, and it should be treated cautiously. Until Nintendo makes a formal announcement, the potential addition of these GameCube titles to Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack remains unverified.
