Digital Extremes has released an official comparison highlighting the improvements in Warframe on Nintendo Switch 2, pointing to a substantial leap in both visual quality and performance over the original Switch version. The comparison was shared through a newly published video on YouTube alongside the game’s launch on the platform.
The developer confirmed that the new version is built natively for the upgraded hardware, introducing a range of technical enhancements aimed at improving the overall experience.
Among the most notable upgrades is a target resolution of 1080p at 60 FPS, a significant step up from the performance limitations seen on the original Switch. The studio also highlighted the inclusion of DLSS support, noting that the updated version delivers improved clarity and smoother gameplay across both docked and handheld modes. “The Nintendo Switch 2 version of Warframe lets you take your journey anywhere with a bevy of technical enhancements, including a target resolution of 1080p at 60 FPS, along with DLSS support, and much, much more,” the developer stated.
The release follows the game’s arrival on Switch 2 on March 25, 2026, alongside the Shadowgrapher update. This update introduces the 64th Warframe, Follie, and brings additional graphical upgrades such as volumetric lighting and enhanced texture quality. Load times have also been reduced, and full cross-play and cross-save functionality allow players to carry progress across platforms.
