Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader Hotfix 1.5.0.300 Resolves Major Ability and Console UI Bugs

Owlcat Games has released Hotfix 1.5.0.300 for Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader, addressing a series of technical and gameplay issues reported by players since the previous update. The hotfix targets malfunctioning Overseer and Commissar abilities, character appearance inconsistencies, console control issues, and several UI and visual errors. It also resolves an assortment of AI and loading problems that affected both combat stability and transitions between large map areas.

This latest patch highlights the studio’s ongoing commitment to post-launch support. By closely monitoring player feedback and offering transparent development roadmaps, the update enhances the experience for both PC and console players. It ensures that the strategic depth and immersive storytelling of the grimdark universe remain intact and uninterrupted.

Gameplay Fixes

  • Fixed multiple Overseer abilities not functioning correctly when used after stepping out from full cover.
  • Commissar’s “At All Costs!” ability was incorrectly dealing double its intended damage; damage output corrected.
  • Fractal Blade now provides the correct bonus to parry.
  • Bringer of Terror, a Heavy Bolter weapon, can no longer be used without Bolter Proficiency.
  • AI turn resolution improved; counter-attacks using burst-fire weapons no longer cause AI loops or hang-ups.

Character and Equipment Fixes

  • Female Commissar’s hat now properly hides when the “Show Base Outfit Headgear” option is turned off.
  • Base outfit hats that occasionally went missing during character creation or inventory viewing now display correctly.
  • Fixed missing outfit details when the “Show Armour” setting was disabled.
  • New Commissar talents had incorrect descriptions; all have been corrected.
  • Emergency Injector item description restored.
  • Fractal Blade bonus calculation fixed to properly reflect its parry bonus.

Console and Controller Improvements

  • Fixed an issue that prevented selecting the 4th ability during level-up for Soldier and Operative classes on consoles and when using a controller.
  • Appearance customization for mercenaries and the Lord-Captain’s mirror in the quarters now works correctly on consoles and controller setups.
  • Fixed a rare issue where the party bar UI still displayed a removed companion after Pasqal was first invited to the party.

Performance and Stability

  • Fixed cases where the game would fail to load when transitioning between sections of large locations.
  • Corrected a cutscene in the Anatomical Opera that sometimes failed to trigger, leaving the area empty.
  • Fixed a crash scenario related to AI counter-attack logic and burst-fire weapon handling.

User Interface and Visuals

  • Restored missing letters on certain talent icons lost in version 1.5.
  • Removed placeholder text {0} that appeared in some colony project descriptions.
  • Corrected colony project display text and iconography to show proper data.
  • The female Commissar’s headgear visuals now align correctly with armor and accessory layers.
  • Fixed missing details in outfit rendering when toggling between armor display modes.

Players assume the mantle of a Rogue Trader, a sanctioned Imperial explorer and merchant-lord tasked with charting the treacherous Koronus Expanse. Commanding a crew of Space Marines, psykers, and xenos allies, players engage in tactical, turn-based battles, navigate political intrigue, and make moral decisions that shape the fate of entire worlds.
