HBO Max is set for a jam-packed September 2025, with fresh HBO Originals, buzzy A24 films, a wave of documentaries, and plenty of new sports programming. Fans of scripted drama can look forward to Task, a tense crime thriller starring Mark Ruffalo, while film buffs get a double feature of A24 titles with Friendship and Warfare. Meanwhile, documentary highlights range from Seen & Heard: The History of Black Television to Prime Minister, a behind-the-scenes portrait of Jacinda Ardern.

The streamer is also adding a hefty catalog of films and network programming, including classics such as Goodfellas, Prometheus, and Se7en. For animation lovers, the Studio Ghibli and GKIDS library remains a central attraction, with Your Name arriving in 4K for premium subscribers and several titles making their North American streaming debut.
