Everstone Studio has shared an extensive development update outlining the next major phase for Where Winds Meet, confirming the launch of Season 2, new Version 1.3 content, and the introduction of a serialized DLC expansion titled Hexi. The details were provided in a February 2026 letter from the development team addressed to the game’s player community.
The studio confirmed that Season 2, titled “Rewind,” will officially launch on February 6, alongside Version 1.3 “Spring’s Bliss.” In the message, the team wrote, “WWM Season 2 ‘Rewind’ will officially launch on Feb 6, marking the start of a brand-new chapter in jianghu.” The update will introduce new content including the Masked Troupe sect, a new Spotlight Mode, and a new event collection called All as One.
Reflecting on the game’s first season, the developers stated, “During Season 1 ‘Blade Out,’ wanderers traveled from Qinghe to Kaifeng, beginning their own wuxia world adventures.” They also emphasized that player feedback has been central to ongoing improvements, noting that they have been “carefully reviewing your feedback and tracking reported issues” while rolling out changes step by step.
Looking further ahead, Everstone announced plans to release the Hexi DLC beginning March 6. According to the studio, “Starting March 6, we’ll launch the brand-new DLC, Hexi. Wanderers will enter a unique dreamlike journey, traveling back in time to witness the legends of heroes.” The DLC will be delivered in serialized chapters, gradually unveiling three regions: Jade Gate Pass, Liangzhou, and Qinchuan. Each region is planned to arrive approximately every 28 days.
New combat content is also planned as part of Hexi. The developers confirmed, “In March, we’ll introduce a new martial art path, Bamboocut – Dust.” They added that April will bring a new weapon, the Heng Blade, along with another martial art path called Stonesplit – Strength. The Heng Blade is described as being modeled after historical ring-pommel blades unearthed in China’s Jiannan region and designed for fast, powerful close-range combat.
Beyond new content, Everstone outlined technical and localization priorities. The team stated they are working on optimizations for PC, PlayStation 5, and mobile platforms, including performance enhancements, crash and stability improvements, memory management, and dynamic scene optimization. They also emphasized expanded localization efforts, explaining that Hexi contains a large volume of narrative content rooted in traditional Chinese history and wuxia culture, requiring deeper translation and cultural adaptation.
Where Winds Meet is an open-world wuxia action-adventure RPG developed by Everstone Studio and published by NetEase Games. The title is set in 10th-century China during the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period and features martial arts combat, Qinggong traversal, and social simulation elements. The game launched globally on November 14, 2025, for PlayStation 5 and PC, followed by mobile versions in December 2025. Version 1.3 “Spring’s Bliss” and Season 2 “Rewind” are scheduled to arrive on February 6, 2026.
