Xbox Reportedly Has 3 New Special Edition Controllers Coming Later This Month

Three brand new Xbox Special Edition controllers are set for release later this month in September, 2025, according to a report.

According to reliable Dealabs insider billbil-kun, Xbox is preparing to launch a brand-new line of Special Edition wireless controllers known as the Breaker series, with three models in distinct colors are set to arrive this month.

Xbox Special Edition “Breaker” Controllers Detailed

Three variations of the Xbox Special Edition “Breaker” controllers will be available at launch. These are as follows:

  • Xbox Heartbreaker Wireless Controller – Featuring bold shades of purple and pink accented by turquoise highlights.
  • Xbox Stormbreaker Wireless Controller – A monochromatic mix of white, gray, and black reminiscent of the popular Arctic Camo controller.
  • Xbox Icebreaker Wireless Controller – A gradient design inspired by the Mineral Camo pattern, fading from deep blue into turquoise.

Although the insider was able to the final visuals of the controllers, they cannot share them due to legal reasons. According to them, the overall design of the Breaker series evokes artistic motifs combining what looks like shards of glass or stylized leaves.

Availability & Pricing

As per the insider, the Breaker series will launch globally across all major Xbox distribution regions, including the Microsoft Store and retailers like Amazon, Fnac, and Micromania. Pricing has been set at €79.99 / $79.99 / £74.99 for each controller, keeping in line with other recent special editions.

Release Date & Pre-Orders

Based on the leak, Xbox is expected to officially announce the Breaker controllers around September 3, 2025, with pre-orders going live the same day. The controllers themselves will release shortly after, on September 9, 2025.

Previously, a unique Xbox controller was announced in celebration of the 40th Anniversary of Rare. The gamepad is is built by gaming peripherals manufacturer 8BitDo. It features 3 modes, hall effect joysticks, Pro back buttons, and compatibility with Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Apple, Windows PC as well as Android devices.
