An Xbox Partner Preview event is set to be announced and is also scheduled to happen sometime in the coming week, based on a new rumor.
Known insider Nate Drake took to gaming enthusiast forum Reset Era to share that, based on his information, an Xbox Partner Preview event is happening during the coming week, and that it should be announced near the start of said week.
The event generally offers a look at what’s in store for Xbox users from major third-party partners as well as indie game studios. It’s tough to guess which partners Microsoft has on board for the alleged upcoming event, though third-party publishers that are in a marketing agreement with Xbox for their forthcoming titles are likely a safe bet. The most recent Partner Preview event happened earlier this year in March, 2024, where upcoming titles like Kunitsu-Game: Path of the Goddess, Frostpunk 2, Unknown 9: Awakening, and Creatures of Ava were revealed.
We may also finally see the rumored Xbox Series X|S version of Final Fantasy XVI get announced at the Partner Preview event. During a recent episode of the Xbox Two podcast on YouTube, Jez Corden had mentioned that a Final Fantasy XVI announcement would happen at TGS 2024. While that didn’t happen, the announcement may have got pushed to this alleged Partner Preview. He also hinted at a broader partnership between Square Enix and Xbox in the future. This isn’t the first time we’ve heard of Final Fantasy XVI being in development for Xbox. Nate Drake had also mentioned on Reset Era that an Xbox port is set to happen. He said that all that’s left is for Square Enix is to make an official announcement. Furthermore, earlier this year, during an episode of The Infinite Podcast, Shpeshal Nick had also hinted at the game’s arrival on Xbox.
