Xenoblade Chronicles series composer Manami Kiyota appears to be hinting at the announcement of the next installment.

Manami Kiyota, composer of the Xenoblade Chronicles series, took to Twitter/X to share that she is working on a new project together with creators from around the world, and she asked fans to look forward to an official announcement in this regard. This suggests that the project may be related to a new Monlith Soft game, possibly a new entry in the Xenoblade Chronicles series or an original IP.

Besides composing for every title in the series outside of Xenoblade Chronicles X, Kiyota’s only discography credits on IMDB are arrangements for PokéPark Wii (2009), Smash Ultimate (2018), and an episode of Level Up Norge (2018). While this doesn’t confirm anything, her last 3 compositions being for games in the Xenoblade Chronicles series heavily suggest she will return to compose the soundtrack for a potential new entry.

Earlier this year, known insider NWeedle hinted that Monolith Soft’s next title will be a sequel to Xenoblade Chronicles X. Back in May, 2022, the leaker had correctly leaked the existence of Xenoblade Chronicles X Definitive Edition. No release window was mentioned by them for the sequel. If we were to guess, the game may be released sometime during 2026 or 2027 depending on how far its development has progressed thus far.

Back in August, 2024, Monolith Soft Director/CCO and Xenoblade Chronicles series General Director, Tetsuya Takahashi, shared a series of job listings alongside a message on its official website, in which he revealed that the studio is working on a new role-playing game. He couldn’t go into details at the time, though he said that the game is a “new RPG.” The aforementioned title is taking on many new challenges compared to previous Monolith Soft titles. He mentioned that the content to be created is becoming more sophisticated, so the studio needs many talented people, which is why he has shared the recruitment post. At the time, it wasn’t known that the the next title from Xenoblade Chronicles developer Monolith Soft is being developed exclusively for the Nintendo Switch 2.
