Sega and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio have launched Yakuza Kiwami and Yakuza Kiwami 2 on the Nintendo Switch 2, continuing the series’ expansion onto the platform as of November 13, 2025. The release adds newly included text language options for both titles, covering French, Italian, German, Spanish, Latin American Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, and Russian.
Both games are available digitally through the Nintendo eShop, priced at $29.99 each or $49.99 when bought together as a bundle. Sega also confirmed a physical standard edition for $34.99. The Switch 2 versions are the first to arrive, preceding planned launches on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles in December.
Yakuza Kiwami is a full remake of the original title that introduced the long-running franchise almost two decades ago. The story follows Kazuma Kiryu, a former Tojo Clan member, as he gets caught up in a plot involving a missing fortune and rising criminal tensions in Tokyo’s red-light district. Sega states the remaster features graphical upgrades and reliable performance on the new hardware, though specific technical details beyond a targeted 60 frames per second have not been verified independently.
Yakuza Kiwami 2 picks up Kiryu’s story, focusing on a conflict with Ryuji Goda, a rival figure in the criminal world. The game revisits the themes of turf wars and shifting alliances that have shaped the broader series. Like the first title, this version has been modified for the new platform with visual and performance improvements, according to Sega’s announcement.
The availability of expanded language support stands out as one of the more important updates, making the games more accessible to international players. The company has not given further details on whether new voice-over options or other content changes come with these editions.
Yakuza Kiwami and Yakuza Kiwami 2 are now playable on Nintendo Switch 2, with broader platform availability planned for next month.
