SEGA and RGG Studio have shared new details on Yakuza Kiwami 3 and Dark Ties during a dedicated Direct presentation, offering an extended look at the upcoming two in one release ahead of its February 12, 2026 launch. The broadcast focused on new gameplay systems, story elements, and original modes featured in both titles.
In Yakuza Kiwami 3, the Direct highlighted Kazuma Kiryu’s attempt at a quieter life in Okinawa, where he runs the Morning Glory Orphanage. That fragile peace is quickly threatened when outside forces move to drive Kiryu and the children from their home, forcing him back into conflict. To defend his new way of life, Kiryu adopts the Ryukyu Style, a combat approach inspired by Okinawan fighting techniques, alongside a set of upgraded mechanics and new minigames.
One of the major additions showcased was the new Bad Boy Dragon mode. In this mode, Kiryu steps into a leadership role, assembling and training a group of delinquents to protect Okinawa. Players work with the Haisai Girls gang, guiding them from a small-time group into a dominant force. The mode blends large-scale street battles with strategic preparation, allowing players to fight alongside allies, equip up to 20 gang members for massive brawls, and launch coordinated assaults on enemy bases using customized motorcycles.
Dark Ties shifts the focus to Yoshitaka Mine, who is tasked with supporting his lieutenant Tsuyoshi Kanda as he attempts to strengthen his standing within the criminal underworld. This storyline unfolds through the Kanda Damage Control segment, which revolves around resolving local conflicts, completing substories, and managing disputes that shape Kanda’s reputation and influence.
The Direct also unveiled the Hell’s Arena underground fight club, a new mode exclusive to Dark Ties. Here, Mine must rely on both strategy and raw combat skill to dismantle an organization threatening the Nishikiyama Family’s operations. Players face a variety of brutal challenges, including Hellish Brawls that emphasize intense one on one combat, and Survival Hell, a mode that combines dungeon exploration with high-pressure pursuits as players race through treasure-filled areas while being hunted.
Yakuza Kiwami 3 and Dark Ties will launch together on February 12, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam. The two in one package brings both stories together with expanded features and modernized gameplay, offering longtime fans and newcomers a substantial new entry point into the series.
