Yakuza Kiwami 3 and Dark Ties Out Now on All Platforms

by Greg Martin

SEGA and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio have officially released Yakuza Kiwami 3 and Dark Ties on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam. The package combines a full-scale remake of Yakuza 3 with a brand new story expansion, bringing both experiences together in a single release.

Yakuza Kiwami 3 revisits Kazuma Kiryu’s story as he continues his fight to protect those closest to him. The remake significantly overhauls the original game, updating its visuals, combat systems, and overall presentation. Okinawa and Tokyo have been rebuilt with modern detail, while combat has been reworked to deliver more intense and fluid brawling encounters. The updated version also introduces additional scenes that expand on the original narrative, alongside new and enhanced side activities designed to further immerse players in the setting.

Alongside the remake is Dark Ties, a new storyline centered on Yoshitaka Mine, a key figure from Yakuza 3. The story follows Mine after he has lost everything important to him, leading him deeper into Japan’s criminal underworld. Driven by a search for meaningful connections, his journey unfolds through a mix of dramatic storytelling and combat focused on a shoot boxing style. Dark Ties also includes a variety of side content intended to complement the main narrative.

The release is available in both physical and digital Standard Editions priced at $59.99, as well as a Digital Deluxe Edition priced at $74.99. Pricing and availability may differ depending on the region.

With the launch of Yakuza Kiwami 3 and Dark Ties, players can revisit a reimagined chapter in Kazuma Kiryu’s saga while exploring an entirely new perspective within the series’ long-running criminal drama.
