A new rumor suggests that Nintendo may be preparing a Zelda-themed Limited Edition Switch 2 console to coincide with the reported release of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake. The claim comes from industry insider Shpeshal Nick, who shared the information on social media.
According to the post, the rumored remake is described as having “a pretty big budget,” pointing to a potentially significant production effort. The same source added, “As a follow up, from what I’ve been told we’re getting a Zelda themed Limited Edition Switch 2 console. Not sure if the game will be bundled or not,” indicating uncertainty around how the hardware and software may be packaged.
The report builds on earlier claims that an Ocarina of Time remake is in development for Switch 2, with a release window targeting the latter half of 2026. That information originated from a podcast hosted by NateTheHate, where the title was positioned as a key part of Nintendo’s holiday lineup.
Additional titles rumored for the platform include a new Star Fox game expected in summer 2026, alongside projects such as Splatoon Raiders, Rhythm Heaven, Fire Emblem Fortune’s Weave, and a new Switch Sports entry. A Switch 2 edition of Pikmin 4 has also been mentioned as a possibility.
While details around the Zelda-themed console remain limited, the idea of a special edition system aligns with Nintendo’s past hardware strategies tied to major releases. As with previous reports, none of these claims have been officially confirmed, and Nintendo has yet to announce its Switch 2 plans for 2026.
