Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve has sold more than 1 million copies worldwide, reaching the milestone faster than any previous game in the series. Bandai Namco confirmed the achievement following the game’s launch on October 2, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam.
The development team thanked players for supporting the latest entry in the long-running aerial combat franchise and said it would continue releasing updates. “We express our gratitude to all the ace pilots around the world and will continue to release updates to ensure you keep enjoying the game, so please continue to support us!” the team said in its announcement.
Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve is the first mainline entry in the series since Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown launched in 2019. The latest instalment features more than 30 aircraft across four roles, updated aerial combat mechanics and the franchise’s largest multiplayer offering to date.
The Ace Combat series has sold more than 20 million units worldwide over its history. Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown remains its best-selling entry, with more than 7 million copies sold.
Bandai Namco Studios develops the franchise through Project Aces, the team responsible for its signature arcade-style flight combat and fictional Strangereal setting.
