Horizon Forbidden West is confirmed for both the PS4 and PS5. The gameplay footage was shown in the State of Play and later shared to YouTube in 4K at 30 FPS. While Guerrilla Games hasn’t confirmed a resolution and frame rate for the PS5 version, the original Horizon Zero Dawn ran at checkerboard 4K with 30 FPS so it is possible that 60 FPS could be achieved on the PS5.

The game is set six months after the events of the first game. Aloy is on a search for clues for a mysterious curse that has fallen on her land. She, along with her friends, has to face the destruction of the machines and discover strange new tribes on her journey. The demo shown during the State of Play provides a good overview of what to expect from the final game.

Horizon Forbidden West is currently slated for the PS4 and PS5. The game was initially teased for a 2021 release date but in a new tweet, Guerrilla Games has assured fans that the development is on track and they will have an update to share on the release date soon.
