Sony has announced a new PlayStation showcase for September 9 to reveal information on the upcoming PS5 games and exclusives.

PlayStation Showcase is scheduled to launch on September 9 at 1:00pm Pacific Time / 9:00pm BST / 10:00pm CEST. It will look at the future of the PS5 games lineup. Here’s what was released in the official blog post.

Tune in next Thursday, September 9 at 1:00pm Pacific Time / 9:00pm BST / 10:00pm CEST for a look into the future of PS5. The Showcase will weigh in at around 40 minutes and include updates from PlayStation Studios and some of the industry’s most imaginative developers, for games releasing this holiday and beyond. And stick around after the presentation to get more updates from some of the studio teams featured in the Showcase.

Sony has also made it clear that there won’t be any announcement or updates on the upcoming PSVR headset, PSVR 2. You will be able to watch it live on YouTube and Twitch.

There have been plenty of rumors in the past about a potential PS5 showcase after Sony skipped out on E3 2021. They haven’t revealed their major games lineup for 2022 and beyond. They were initially supposed to release Horizon Forbidden West and Gran Turismo 7 in 2021, but both of these were pushed to 2022. The same is true for the God of War sequel.

Sony has a talented slate of first-party developers like Naughty Dog, Sony Santa Monica Studio, Guerrilla Games, and Sucker Punch. They also have good relationships with third-party studios like Square Enix, which are working on Forspoken and Final Fantasy XVI as PS5 launch exclusives.
