Sony added a disclaimer to every PlayStation 4 game on the PlayStation Store regarding PS5 backward compatibility that tells if a game is compatible or not.
As we have reported earlier, Sony had shared an update on the backward compatibility support on the PlayStation Store. After the recent announcement that some of the Assassin’s Creed games won’t be playable on the PS5 through backward compatibility, which was then retracted by Ubisoft, a user has come forward with a website that uses a script to make a list of games from the PlayStation Store that are either fully compatible or can be bootable on the PS5 but with various issues.

There are three types of messages for PS4 games that are backward compatible with PS5 as seen on the PlayStation Store. One says that it is backward compatible after a software update and mentions no issues for the game (e.g The Last of Us Part 2). The second message says that it is bootable but it might “exhibit errors or unexpected behavior” when playing the game (e.g Assassin’s Creed Syndicate). The last one is for games that don’t work at all. We already know the list of 10 of the PS4 games that won’t be playable on the PS5.
You can use this website to get a look at the compatibility list for PS4 games that are playable on the PS5. Some of these are fully compatible, as they won’t show any major issues when playing them on the PS5, while others might face some problems.
We have compiled a list of some of the major games that are bootable but might cause issues or face errors when playing them on the PS5, according to the PlayStation Store. There are more than 350 games out of the 15,000 and this includes the multiple regions for every game.

Since some of the games that were mentioned by Ubisoft in their official blog post–which they later removed–are on this list, we can assume that there might be some issues with playing them even if they are bootable on the PS5. However, they can be still considered as backward compatible on PS5 which is why they weren’t present in the official list by Sony.
