Shimokawa stated that Armored Core 6 has sold 2.8 million copies worldwide. Kase highlighted that the Japanese voice overs are included in the game’s western release, and that there are many people listening to their voices.

The aforementioned sales figures are likely to have ensured that the series won’t be going on another lengthy hiatus, and that a potential Armored Core VII would happen at some point in the future.

Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon is a mecha-based vehicular combat game. It was developed by FromSoftware and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment. This installment is the first in the Armored Core series since Armored Core: Verdict Day (2013). The game is available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.

The gameplay focuses on mecha-based vehicular combat, with players assuming the roles of skilled pilots controlling powerful mechs called Armored Cores. Players can modify these mechs using various parts to enhance their capabilities. There are slots available for weapons on each arm and two on the mech’s rear, giving players plenty of options.

Armored Core VI retains the arena concept from its predecessors. In this mode, players can assess their skills, compete with others, and earn “OS Tuning” chips to unlock specific abilities and upgrades. Players are rewarded with in-game currency, known as credits, for successfully completing missions. The number of credits earned depends on the mission objectives achieved, with potential deductions for uncompleted goals.
