Astro Bot Developer Team Asobi Wants To Hear From PC Players About A Future Port

Astro Bot developer Team Asobi would like to hear from PC players regarding the possibility of a future PC port of the game.

During an interview on the MinnMax YouTube channel, Nicolas Doucet, creative director at Team Asobi, was asked whether he had a message for PC players out there who are very eager to someday play Astro Bot. In his response, he said that he “absolutely” looks forward to hearing from the PC audience.

Elsewhere during the interview, Doucet mentioned that the development team for Astro Bot comprised of a total of 65 people. He revealed that around 4 members of the development team had previously worked on Ape Escape. He also addressed the possibility of a PSVR2 mode, stating that the game was not designed for VR.

Doucet further revealed that Astro Bot will feature a total of 80 levels, and the robot will come with 15 brand new abilities. The game is also said to feature 150 special bot cameos based on characters that have been associated with PlayStation in the past.

It was also revealed that Mark Cerny had the opportunity to try out Astro Bot, and that he had overwhelmingly positive impressions. Doucet mentioned that after playing the game, Cerny put the controller down and said, “now this is a game.”

Recent leaked footage from Astro Bot had revealed plenty of the aforementioned special bot cameos. It turns out that someone had got their hands on a copy of the 3D platformer early, and managed to upload a substantial amount of gameplay footage on the internet. The cameo appearances seen in the leaked footage include Ryu and Ken from Street Fighter Alpha, Ulala from Space Channel 5, Kat and Raven from Gravity Rush, Octodad, Aigis from Persona 3, Teddie from Persona 4, Joker from Persona 5, Cole from inFamous, Sly Cooper, and Dante from Devil May Cry.
