Electronic Arts and Battlefield Studios have reintroduced bots to Verified Community Experiences in Battlefield 6, following their temporary removal earlier this year. The change affects multiple multiplayer modes, including Conquest, Breakthrough, and Rush, and is intended to improve matchmaking efficiency across community-hosted servers.
According to the official update, each supported game mode can now include up to 12 bots. When bot backfill is active, matches will begin once eight human players are present, with up to six bots added per team to fill vacant slots. If bot backfill is disabled, a minimum of 20 players will be required before a match can start.
The update also clarifies that bots will grant reduced experience points compared to human opponents, while XP earned from player interactions will remain at full value. However, player statistics — including time played, kill/death ratio, and total revives — will not currently update in matches where bots are active. Developers have acknowledged this as an unintended issue and confirmed that a fix is in progress. Despite this limitation, in-game challenges remain fully completable during bot-enabled sessions.
In addition to matchmaking adjustments, Battlefield Studios has temporarily disabled the Lock-Guided Missile (MR Missile) for the Infantry Fighting Vehicle (IFV). The decision follows reports of inconsistent countermeasure behavior that affected gameplay balance. The studio stated that the weapon’s functionality will remain disabled until a correction is deployed in a forthcoming update, expected next week.
The changes mark the latest phase in Battlefield 6’s post-launch support, as the development team continues refining gameplay balance and server stability. Since its release on October 10, 2025, Battlefield 6 has positioned itself as a return to the franchise’s traditional, class-based formula, emphasizing large-scale warfare and destructible environments across a contemporary setting.
The title is currently available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows PC via Steam, the Epic Games Store, and the EA app.
