Blizzard Could Reveal Major Battle.net Plans for 2027 at BlizzCon

A new rumour suggests Blizzard could be preparing a significant Battle.net 2027 announcement at this year’s BlizzCon.

The speculation comes from Windows Central journalist Jez Corden. While discussing Microsoft’s gaming business, Corden hinted that Battle.net has plans for next year but stopped short of revealing any specifics.

“What I’ve heard, it’s like, and this is without considering Battlenet and I’ve heard some interesting things about what Battlenet wants to do next year. I won’t spoil BlizzCon, but you know, keep an eye on what Battle Net’s going to do as well.”

Corden did not elaborate on what Blizzard is planning, leaving the nature of the announcement open to speculation.

BlizzCon is scheduled to return on September 12 and 13 at the Anaheim Convention Center following a multi-year hiatus. The event will mark the convention’s first major showcase since Activision Blizzard became part of Microsoft and is expected to feature updates across Blizzard’s major franchises, including World of Warcraft, Diablo and Overwatch.

Neither Blizzard nor Microsoft has announced any new Battle.net initiatives for 2027. Until an official reveal is made, Corden’s comments should be treated as speculation.
