MercurySteam and 505 Games have released Blades of Fire Version 2.0 alongside the game’s Steam launch. The update introduces several major gameplay additions, new progression systems, challenge content, and quality-of-life improvements across the experience.
Players can now jump into New Game Plus, tackle the brutal Titanium Difficulty mode, revisit bosses through Anvil Trials, and use the new Arcana and Transmutation systems. The update also adds Steam Deck support, Photo Mode, new achievements, and a handful of combat and visual improvements that should make the adventure feel smoother overall.
New Features
New Game Plus
- Added New Game Plus mode, allowing players to replay Aran’s adventure while keeping most progression and stats
- Enemies now scale to the player’s health during New Game Plus
- Added 27 exclusive forge statues that unlock new weapon parts
Titanium Difficulty
- Added Titanium Difficulty challenge mode for experienced players
- Enemies now feature increased health and armour
- Enemy attacks deal 20% more damage
- Bosses have been rebalanced with stricter timing-based mechanics
Anvil Trials
- Added Anvil Trials arena challenges
- Players can re-fight defeated bosses from the main story
- Challenges feature time-limited combat encounters
- Rewards earned can assist progression
- Bosses now include additional mechanics for increased difficulty
Arcana
- Added Arcana system
- Players can collect medals during Anvil Trials
- Medals can be exchanged with Adso for ancient spells
- Arcana provides passive weapon buffs
Transmutation
- Added Transmutation system at the forge
- Players can convert discovered materials into other materials
Quality of Life Updates
- Added Photo Mode

- Added full mouse and keyboard rebinding support

Blades of Fire is available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PC via the Epic Games Store, and Steam. Developed by MercurySteam and published by 505 Games, the game originally launched on May 22, 2025, before arriving on Steam on May 14, 2026.
