New updates for Call of Duty: Black Ops and Call of Duty: Black Ops II have appeared in the PlayStation database, suggesting that patches for both games could arrive on PS4 and PS5 in the coming days.
The database listings identify update 01.009.000 for Call of Duty: Black Ops and update 01.011.000 for Call of Duty: Black Ops II. However, no patch notes are available yet, so the changes included in either update remain unknown.
The previous update for Black Ops II introduced dedicated multiplayer servers to improve match stability and security, alongside better support for joining friends. It also addressed issues involving custom emblems, the user interface and the multiplayer heatmap globe.
Activision confirmed that all multiplayer matches had been migrated to dedicated servers following the rollout of that update. The move was intended to improve the online experience for players on modern PlayStation consoles.
Activision released native PS4 and PS5 versions of both Black Ops games in July 2026, bringing the classic Call of Duty titles to current PlayStation hardware. The ports include their original campaigns, multiplayer modes and Zombies experiences.
Activision has not yet announced the contents or release dates for the newly listed updates.
