A never before seen trailer for a canceled Lego video game themed after the James Bond franchise has emerged on the internet.
The trailer for Lego James Bond shows the Lego rendition of the spy action hero driving his car into the sea, as it converts into an underwater vehicle. Then, he”s seen tugging along a boat, shooting a laser from his car’s wheel into an enemy’s vehicle in order to stop them from getting away. Later, he is seen crossing a river by hopping atop a series of crocodiles and performing other dangerous acts to overcome the odds.

It was originally claimed that the trailer is based on canceled content for Lego Dimensions. However, Reddit user LEGOGameMuseum, who appears to have accurate information regarding the footage, clarified that it was produced as a pitch for The LEGO group to convince it to green light a full game themed after the James Bond franchise. According to them, it was made during the final year of Lego Dimensions’ development, when it became apparent that the game wouldn’t receive a third year of content. However, The Lego Group decided that James Bond wasn’t suitable for a full Lego themed game, and ultimately dropped the project. The Reddit user believes that the leaked trailer footage was discovered was datamined from a Lego Dimensions build, which is why there was confusion regarding it being a part of its canceled third year content.
James Bond fans need not be disappointed, however, as IO Interactive is currently working on the blockbuster franchise. Featuring a wholly original Bond story, players will step into the shoes of the world’s favorite Secret Agent to earn their 00 status in the very first James Bond origin story. The studio is currently recruiting talent to join the team that will build out the project.
