Hotfix 1.5.1 for Clair Obscur Expedition 33 focuses on resolving a range of gameplay-blocking bugs, balance issues, and technical problems reported by players. Several fixes address weapon progression, combat targeting, save handling, and unintended character behavior.
The update also improves environmental polish, audio presentation, and localization accuracy across multiple languages. While some known issues remain under investigation, this hotfix stabilizes key systems and improves overall playability.

Gameplay
- Fixed Monoco’s weapon Cannaro being unobtainable from Chromatic Machinapieds
- Players who already defeated the boss will automatically receive the weapon unless they started a NG plus after the fight
- Fixed Esquim not applying Mark to all enemies when a skill had zero hits
- Fixed a targeting issue after using a Recoat item followed by Retry Battle, which prevented targeting the middle enemy or character
- Fixed a soft-lock when loading a save without hovering over a slot while backup saves were displayed
- Fixed weapons upgrading to level 34 when spamming Upgrade Weapon and Change Character
- Level 34 weapons have been reverted to level 33
- Fixed characters being able to use other characters’ weapons when quickly switching weapon tabs
Environment
- Nerfed the hardest boss in Verso’s Drafts by slightly adjusting its position to make the quest easier
- Fixed various environment issues, including collisions, misplaced assets, and missing or incorrect footstep sound effects across Verso’s Drafts, the World Map, and other levels
Audio and Music
- Improved environmental ambiances and spatial audio in Verso’s Drafts
- Enhanced audio mixes for select characters, combos, and finishers
- Fixed missing music after defeating new Endless Tower bosses
- Fixed missing subtitle line for Sciel in a new cinematic
- Fixed missing Barbapapa status effect sound when receiving a second stack
- Fixed missing sound effects for the Licorne enemy in Verso’s Drafts
- Fixed missing sound effects for Paint Cage explosions in Verso’s Drafts
- Fixed music and sound effects not pausing during cinematic sequences with slow motion enabled, which caused audio desynchronization
Localization
- Fixed subtitles disappearing too quickly in Root Of All Evil cinematics
- Fixed overlapping text in Pictos and Luminas lists
- Fixed swapped autoplay dialogue options when using LATAM Spanish
- Fixed incorrect text during the Flying Manor side quest when using Vietnamese
- Fixed Verso’s Phantom Stars skill displaying HTML text in combat when using Vietnamese
Clair Obscur Expedition 33 launched on April 24, 2025, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Hotfix 1.5.1 is now live.
