Counter-Strike 2 Update Brings Animgraph 2 Changes and Bug Fixes

The latest Counter-Strike 2 update rolls out all changes from the Animgraph 2 beta, refining weapon animations and addressing several gameplay inconsistencies. Adjustments to viewmodel animations and weapon deploy logic aim to improve overall responsiveness during matches.

In addition, the patch resolves a number of gameplay and technical issues, including ladder movement exploits, grenade scaling bugs, and a halftime crash. A separate fix also restores the intended delay between burst fire shots, correcting an issue that affected weapon balance.

Animgraph 2

  • Applied minor adjustments to viewmodel animations for improved visual consistency

  • Fixed issues when transitioning between knife attacks
  • Fixed Elites not firing correctly in third person

  • Fixed an exploit allowing silent ladder climbing at run speed by tapping movement keys
  • Improved ground smoothing where sloped surfaces transition into flat terrain
  • Fixed grenades inheriting incorrect scale after being dropped and picked up
  • Fixed a crash occurring at halftime when switching from Counter Terrorists to Terrorists
  • Restored intended delay between burst fire bullets, fixing a gameplay bug

Counter-Strike 2 is available as a free to play title on Windows and Linux, originally released on September 27, 2023.
