According to Patrick K. Mills, Cyberrpunk 2077’s main story is shorter than The Witcher 3. He didn’t really drop an exact length for the main story but according to the stats tracking website, HowLongToBeat, The Witcher 3 has an average completion time of 51 and half hours for the main story. This puts Cyberpunk 2077 at somewhere around the 50 hours mark for the main story.
According to the Senior Quest Designer, one of the reasons they decided to shorten the length of the game is because of the completion rate for The Witcher 3. According to him, there were a “tremendous” number of people who hadn’t finished The Witcher 3. This lead to CD Projekt Red considering a shorter playtime for Cyberpunk 2077 in a bid to let more people finish the game.
The game is expected to launch on November 19, 2020, and will receive a free upgrade for PS5 and Xbox Series X next year. It has also received its system requirements and they are rather modest compare to most modern games.
