Cyberpunk 2077 Xbox One vs. Xbox Series Comparison

by Salal Awan

Cyberpunk 2077 has been upgraded for both the PS5 and Xbox Series consoles. If you have already played the game, is the upgrade worth it?

According to CD Projekt Red, Cyberpunk 2077 doesn’t benefit much on the Xbox Series S. It improves the resolution of the game to 1440p but there is no performance or ray-tracing mode supported on it. The game instead runs at the same graphics level as the PS5 and Xbox Series X in performance mode but with a 30 FPS limit.

If you have installed the latest Cyberpunk 2077 patch which updates the game to version 1.5, you will be able to avail of the free upgrade for the Xbox Series consoles. All you need to do is to get the Xbox Series enhanced version downloaded, which is more than 50 GB in size.

So how does the PS5 version of Cyberpunk 2077 compares to the Xbox Series version? It appears that the difference between both consoles has been reduced even further now. The game now runs at a 1440p resolution on both consoles while previously it was possible to run the game at 1800p resolution on the Xbox Series X.

All other visual effects and graphics preset are identical between both platforms. Xbox Series X runs the game with a ray-tracing mode at 30 FPS while a Performance mode bumps the frame rate to 60 FPS. There are no ray-traced reflections but local shadows are enhanced while the reflections are improved with a higher quality SSR.

All in, it doesn’t matter if you play Cyberpunk 2077 on the PS5 or Xbox Series, since you will be getting the identical experience. The game has been improved with the new changes so if you haven’t played it yet, now is the time to jump in.

The game is available now for the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, and PC.
