Kojima Productions has filed a trademark application for Death Stranding Odradek in Japan, according to an entry published in the country’s trademark gazette. The application, numbered 2026122299, was filed on October 19 and covers video games, hardware, entertainment products, and technology-related goods and services.

The filing lists 60 items across three trademark classes: Class 9, covering machinery and apparatus; Class 41, covering education and entertainment; and Class 42, covering science and technology.

Among the listed products are game software for home consoles, commercial gaming systems, and portable devices, as well as downloadable games. The application also includes headsets, photographic and cinematographic equipment, optical devices, telecommunications equipment, and personal digital assistants.

Other items covered by the Death Stranding Odradek trademark include records, downloadable music and image files, recorded video discs, and electronic publications.

The name Odradek is already associated with the Death Stranding series. In the games, it refers to the scanning device attached to protagonist Sam Porter Bridges’ shoulder, which helps him detect Beached Things (BTs) and survey the surrounding terrain.

However, the trademark filing does not explain how Kojima Productions intends to use the name. The studio has not announced a new project or product associated with the application, and the filing alone does not confirm that one is in development.

Kojima Productions’ latest major release, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, launched on PlayStation 5 on June 26, 2025, before arriving on PC on March 19, 2026.
