Devil May Cry 5 has emerged as Capcom’s best-selling individual title in the current fiscal year, nearly six years after its original release, outperforming major franchises such as Resident Evil and Monster Hunter during the nine-month period from April to December 2025.
According to Capcom’s FY2025 Q3 performance data, Devil May Cry 5, including the Special Edition, recorded 2.43 million units sold during the nine-month period, bringing its lifetime sales to 11.0 million units. This figure places it ahead of other high-performing individual titles in the same timeframe, including Resident Evil 4 Remake at 2.34 million units and Resident Evil Village at 2.28 million units.
Capcom reported net sales of 115.3 billion yen for the nine-month period, representing a 30 percent year-over-year increase. Operating profit reached 54.3 billion yen, up 75 percent year over year, with an operating margin of 47.1 percent. The company’s Digital Contents segment generated 73.4 billion yen in sales and 46.0 billion yen in profit, reflecting growth of 25 percent and 58 percent, respectively.
Total unit sales across all titles reached 34.64 million units, up 13.5 percent year over year. Catalog titles accounted for 33.39 million units, or 96.4 percent of total volume, marking Capcom’s highest-ever nine-month catalog performance. New titles contributed 1.25 million units, representing just 3.6 percent of total sales and a 34 percent decline year over year.
Digital distribution continued to dominate, with 32.61 million units sold digitally, or 94.1 percent of total volume. Physical sales declined to 2.04 million units. By platform, console digital sales reached 19.10 million units, while PC digital sales accounted for 13.50 million units.
Within the Resident Evil franchise, several titles posted strong catalog performance. Resident Evil Village sold 2.28 million units during the period, reaching 13.6 million lifetime sales. Resident Evil 4 Remake recorded 2.34 million units for the period and 12.3 million lifetime sales. Resident Evil 2 Remake sold 1.46 million units, Resident Evil 3 Remake sold 1.09 million units, and Resident Evil 7 Biohazard recorded 1.68 million units for the period with 16.47 million lifetime sales.
Monster Hunter Wilds sold 991,000 units during the period and has reached 11.1 million lifetime sales. Monster Hunter Rise sold 1.10 million units, while its Sunbreak expansion sold 1.03 million units. Monster Hunter: World remains among Capcom’s top sellers despite its 2018 release.
Capcom forecasts full-year net sales of 190 billion yen and total unit sales of 54 million units for FY2026, with catalog titles projected to account for 46 million units. With Devil May Cry 5 now leading individual sales for the period, the company’s reliance on long-term catalog strength continues to define its financial performance.
