Dying Light 2 Update 1.23 Launches UGC Fest Event, Adds Balatro Collaboration and Major Fixes

by Ali Haider

Techland has released the 1.23 Summer Update for Dying Light 2, launching a new event that places community creativity in the spotlight. With UGC Fest, players are invited to explore a curated lineup of community-made maps, use striking visual and weapon mods, and complete rotating bounties over four themed weeks from June 26 to July 23, 2025. Each week showcases three distinct player-created maps and introduces new rewards, including charms and exclusive weapon skins.

Complementing this event is the Dying Light 2 x Balatro collaboration, offering the Friend of Aiden bundle. This includes the Jimbo Outfit, the Ceremonial Dagger, the Flying Blind Paraglider, and the reactive Joker Charm. Players can access this gear by locating special posters in the Bazaar and the Fish Eye, which unlock short side quests.

Beyond these seasonal additions, the update delivers extensive fixes and quality-of-life improvements across co-op functionality, Tower Raid mechanics, and general gameplay. Several bugs involving weapon behavior, blueprints, quest triggers, and terrain textures have been addressed. PlayStation and Xbox versions receive additional system-specific fixes, and the default immunity duration has been increased to improve survivability.
