Elden Ring Update 1.015 Makes A Surprise Drop Today

Elden Ring – Update 1.015 (Version 1.14) has been released for PlayStation 5, with server maintenance scheduled on September 11. According to the developers, the maintenance period lasted around two hours, during which online services were unavailable. This update brings several balance adjustments, focusing primarily on the final boss of the upcoming expansion “Shadow of the Erdtree,” as well as PvP-exclusive and general balance adjustments. The patch also includes various bug fixes, performance improvements, and quality-of-life changes to enhance the overall gameplay experience.

Notable changes include adjustments to the damage and stamina effects of some attacks, increased attack speed for several weapon types, and improved poise damage for specific skills. PvP gameplay has been refined with tweaks to weapons and skills, reducing the effectiveness of certain attacks in competitive scenarios. A series of bug fixes address inconsistencies in weapon interactions, incantation behavior, and visual issues.

The last patch dealt with a variety of fixes related to gameplay mechanics, particularly around NPC behavior, multiplayer invasions, and the Revered Spirit Ash Blessing. Several spirits introduced in earlier versions were also adjusted to ensure their effects aligned with expectations, while issues with attack power and damage negation were corrected.

    • Discus Hurl: Reduced damage animation value.
    • Weed Cutter: Decreased poise value of follow-up attacks.

General Balance Adjustments

  • Equipment:
    • Increased attack speed for uncharged first heavy attack for various weapon types.
    • Increased damage and recovery time for Hand-to-Hand Arts weapons.
    • Increased move distance and attack speed for Colossal Sword.
    • Reduced attack speed for Backhand Blade normal attacks from crouch.
    • Improved damage negation and guard strength for Small and Medium Shields.
    • Extended the throwing range of Smithscript Dagger.
    • Increased attribute scaling for Rellana’s Twinblade for lower Intelligence and Faith.
    • Adjusted Rellana’s Cameo Talisman damage enhancement.
  • Weapon Arts:
    • Light/Darkness: Increased attack speed.
    • Dynastic Sickleplay: Reduced stamina consumption, increased poise damage, and improved follow-up attack effects.
    • Shield Strike: Longer cancel time after performing this art.
    • Moon-and-Fire Stance: Enhanced attack speed, poise damage, and range.
    • Devonia’s Vortex: Increased attack power, extended attack range, and poise generation speed.
  • Spell & Incantations:
    • Rellana’s Twin Moons: Increased range and reduced knockback.
    • Aspects of the Crucible (Thorns/Bloom): Increased attack power, speed, and hitbox adjustments.
    • Divine Bird Feathers: Reduced delay between hits, increased range.
    • Furious Blade of Ansbach: Increased poise damage, knockback, and faster cancel into rolls.
    • Midra’s Flame of Frenzy: Increased attack speed and Frenzy buildup range.
    • Bayle’s Flame Lightning: Increased attack power.

Bug Fixes

  • Corrected several bugs affecting weapons, incantations, and skills, including issues with hitboxes, visual effects, and incorrect damage output.
  • Fixed issues with Black Pyreflies items, Light Greatsword stamina consumption, and Taylew the Golem Smith’s damage output.
  • Resolved errors with enemy rune acquisition, weapon skill enchantments, and multiplayer visibility for certain incantations.

Performance Improvements

  • Fixed unstable frame rate issues on PS5 by suggesting a “Rebuild Database” option from safe mode.
  • Improved performance on PC by addressing Ray Tracing issues and mouse behavior controlled by third-party applications.
