The Epic Games Store has revealed its December 26 mystery giveaway title, confirming that Mystery Game number 10 of 17 is We Were Here Together. The reveal places the cooperative puzzle adventure as the latest entry in Epic’s ongoing holiday promotion, which has now passed the halfway point, with seven additional games still scheduled to be unlocked.
We Were Here Together follows Disco Elysium and The Callisto Protocol in the mystery lineup and comes after earlier giveaways such as Bloodstained, Paradise Killer, and Sorry We’re Closed. Previous entries in the promotion also included Hogwarts Legacy, Jotunnslayer Hordes of Hel, Eternights, and Blood West.
According to details provided on the Epic Games Store, We Were Here Together is a co-op only puzzle adventure built entirely around communication and teamwork. The game is set across frozen Antarctic landscapes and a mysterious medieval structure known as Castle Rock. Players take on the roles of two explorers responding to a distress signal that appears in the sky as an emergency flare, prompting a rescue mission that quickly escalates into something far more dangerous.
After leaving their research base camp and crossing the Antarctic wastes, players find themselves separated inside Castle Rock. From that point onward, progress depends entirely on observation, clear communication, and cooperation. Each player is equipped with a walkie-talkie, and voice communication is a mandatory mechanic rather than an optional feature.
The gameplay centers on puzzle solving, with environments described as a digital escape room filled with secrets, hazards, and interconnected challenges. Players must describe their surroundings accurately and relay information to one another in order to overcome obstacles. Locations include the expedition base camp, frozen valleys, and the interior of Castle Rock itself, which is portrayed as a place with a dark and unsettling history.
