Here are the names of all DC games that were scrapped by Warner Bros in the last decade, including an Arkham Knight sequel.
In the latest episode of the Kinda Funny Gamescast, guest Jason Schreier shared details about all the canceled DC game projects that were being developed by Warner Bros during the last decade, including an Arkham Knight sequel.

Project Legacy
According to Schreier, after the release of Shadow of War in 2017, Monolith Productions chose not to develop another Lord of the Rings title and instead began working on an original project codenamed Legacy. However, the latter was canceled by Warner Bross in 2021, leading to the departure of the studio’s leadership alongside many other developers. Most of these former employees went on to establish Cliffhanger Games under EA, where they are currently working on a Black Panther game.
Wonder Woman
Monolith Productions subsequently shifted its focus to the Wonder Woman project around May or June, 2021. The game was officially announced at The Game Awards six months later. During this period, the studio was also rebuilding its staff and leadership team. A major debate arose over whether to continue using Monolith Productions’ proprietary engine or transition to Unreal Engine. The decision was ultimately made to stick with the in-house engine, but challenges emerged due to the departure of many programmers and engineers familiar with its technicalities. By late 2023/early 2024, the Wonder Woman title underwent a complete reboot. This included a change in directors, the removal of the Nemesis System, and a shift toward a more traditional action-adventure gameplay style akin to God of War. Earlier this week on February 25, 2025, the game was canceled alongside the closure of Monolith Productions.
Arkham Knight Sequel
Following the launch of Arkham Origins in 2013, WB Games Montreal began work on an Arkham Knight sequel that focused on Damian Wayne. More details about the game can be found here. According to Schreier, it was ultimately canceled, and the studio then began working on Gotham Knights in 2017.
WB Games Montreal’s Suicide Squad Title
WB Games Montreal had a Suicide Squad game project in development alongside the Arkham Knight sequel that was also canceled before the studio moved on to work on Gotham Knights.
“Gotham Knights 1.5”
Schreier also mentioned that, after the development of Gotham Knights had been completed, a title he referred to as “Gotham Knights 1.5”, intended as a standalone, smaller-scale game similar to Spider-Man: Miles Morales, was pitched by WB Games Montreal. However, it failed to get approved.
Constantine Game
According to Schreier, WB Games Montreal also pitched a Constantine game that was not greenlit.
The Flash Game
When the Constantine project failed to get approved, WB Games Montreal began work on a title based on The Flash, but that too was later canceled following the under-performance of The Flash movie.
