Disney Plus is gearing up for a substantial month of new arrivals this August, with a wide variety of premieres, library additions, and 24/7 streaming options across its diverse portfolio. From animated adventures and seasonal programming to exclusive Marvel premieres and ESPN live coverage, subscribers in the U.S. will find plenty to look forward to.
The month opens on August 1 with the debut of the Outdoor Adventure Stream, a new always-on experience designed for viewers who enjoy tales of exploration and survival. Meanwhile, King & Prince: What We Got (Japanese Version) brings international pop culture content to the platform.
August also introduces a variety of new and returning series. The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder returns for its third season on August 6, bringing more spirited adventures from Penny Proud and her friends. The same day also features library additions such as Rachael Ray’s Holidays, Raising Asia, and Wild Vietnam. That week also introduces Ancient Aliens: Origins, with a full twelve-episode drop on August 7, followed by the return of Project Runway Season 21 with weekly episodes airing Thursdays at 10pm PT.
Marvel content continues to expand, with the premiere of Marvel’s Iron Man and His Awesome Friends set for August 12. The animated series brings together Tony Stark, Riri Williams, and Amadeus Cho for science-based heroics in their custom Iron Suits. Later in the month, Marvel Animation returns with Eyes of Wakanda, launching August 27 with all episodes available to stream. This series explores the secret missions of the Wakandan War Dogs throughout global history.
The streamer also makes room for special interest programming. On August 15, Chris Hemsworth leads Limitless: Live Better Now, a health-focused docuseries packed with physical challenges. The same day, Stand Up to Cancer 2025 will stream live at 5pm PT, featuring music icon Dolly Parton and hosted by Grammy winner Sheryl Crow.
New 24/7 streams are also a part of Disney Plus’ August lineup. Alongside the outdoor-focused stream on August 1, Princess Stream launches on August 25 in celebration of World Princess Week. This new stream will highlight classic and contemporary tales featuring beloved heroines like Moana, Belle, and Ariel.
Other highlights include the premiere of LEGO Disney Princess: Villains Unite on August 25, which brings together Disney Princesses and villains in a high-stakes animated showdown. Younger audiences will enjoy Disney Jr.’s Ariel and SuperKitties: Su-Purr Adventures, while travel and wildlife fans can look forward to the return of Shipwreck Hunters Australia on August 27.
