A playable demo for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth has gone live on the US eShop for Nintendo Switch 2 and on Xbox storefronts, giving players an early look at the upcoming release ahead of its launch on new platforms.
The demo allows players to experience the opening portion of the game through the end of Chapter 2, titled “A New Journey Begins.” According to the store description, players can explore freely within the available areas and revisit earlier locations if they choose not to proceed further into the main path.
Progress made in the demo can be transferred to the full version of the game. The listing notes, “Carry over your demo progress to the full version of the game,” while also confirming bonus rewards tied to save data. “If you have save data from the demo, you can claim a kupo charm and survival set containing helpful items.”
Additional details clarify that achievements cannot be unlocked within the demo itself, though any progress-based achievements will trigger once save data is transferred into the full game. Players are also advised that save transfer will not work if full game save data is created before using demo data, though the bonus items can still be obtained.
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is scheduled to release on Nintendo Switch 2 and Xbox Series X and S on June 3, 2026, following its earlier availability on PlayStation 5 and PC.
