Square Enix has teased that it will share new information on part 3 in the Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy during the upcoming Ever Crisis anniversary live stream.

The aforementioned official Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis 2-year anniversary live stream (via Twitter/X user Genki_JPN) is set to happen on Friday, September 5, 2025. The stream will feature Kasumi Ashizawa (Game Talent/Voice Actor), Shoichi Ichikawa (Producer, Square Enix), Tetsuya Nomura (Creative Director, Square Enix) in voice only as a “voice from heaven”, and Hasebe (Planner, Square Enix).

Furthermore, it is mentioned that the fourth official live broadcast for the smartphone will also bring fans the latest updates on the series, including some new information on Final Fantasy VII part 3. It’s possible that the game may receive a formal announcement accompanied by a teaser. Only time will tell whether that’s the case, however.

Back in May, 2025, the official Instagram account for Final Fantasy VII shared a post in which it unveiled a brand-new illustration for Magic: The Gathering — Final Fantasy, reflecting Sephiroth’s journey in Final Fantasy VII. It also included comments from illustrator Tetsuya Nomura. One interesting comment made by Nomura is that there is a reason behind the redesign of Safer Sephiroth, the final boss of Final Fantasy VII, hinting that it may have been done for the upcoming Part 3 of the Remake trilogy.

Earlier in December, 2024, during an interview with Famitsu, Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy director Naoki Hamaguchi offered an update on the development of the third entry in the Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy, saying that the team, including himself, has been working hard on the game. According to him, development is “progressing smoothly”, though he asked fans to wait a little longer for any new information to be revealed. It makes sense that the Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy director didn’t have much to share on Part 3 at the time, given that it hadn’t even been a year since Rebirth’s release.
