Regarding Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3, Nomura said, “It is going very smoothly. The announcement timing has been decided and we will stick to that schedule, so please rest assured and wait.” As for  fourth installment in the Kingdom Hearts series, he stated, “Kingdom Hearts IV is also progressing well and according to schedule.”

Last month, Gackt, the voice actor who played the character of Genesis in Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII and Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy VII, shared on social media that he was recording his voice for a project, and that it had been a while since he returned to the studio in his accompanied photo. The Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII and Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy VII voice actor recalled that it’s been more than 10 years since he was last recording there. He didn’t reveal that name of the project, but it likely involves Genesis in either Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis or Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3.

Earlier in May, 2025, the official Instagram account for Final Fantasy VII shared a post in which it unveiled a brand-new illustration for Magic: The Gathering — Final Fantasy, reflecting Sephiroth’s journey in Final Fantasy VII. It also included comments from Tetsuya Nomura. One interesting comment made by him is that there is a reason behind the redesign of Safer Sephiroth, the final boss of Final Fantasy VII, hinting that it may have been done for the upcoming Part 3 of the Remake trilogy.
