Part 3 of Square Enix’s Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy promises new combat mechanics as well as the return of fan-favorite characters.
During the “Summoning a Masterpiece” live panel event (via) from Boulevard City in Riyadh, producer Yoshinori Kitase and director Naoki Hamaguchi took a look at the making of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. Hamaguchi mentioned that the development team wants to portray a new and strong Tifa in part 3 of the Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy that is different from her portrayal in part 1 and part 2.
Hamaguchi also revealed (via) that Part 3 of the Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy will feature a new gameplay system that will involve Tifa in some undisclosed manner. As for Cid and Vincent, the developers confirmed that both of them will be playable in the third game, and that they will also have synergy abilities with the other party members.
In related news, during a recent video feature, Hamaguchi mentioned that the final part of the Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy promises to expand the world even further, and that fans can expect an exciting conclusion that will leave a lasting impact. Kitase said that the development team is incorporating all the feedback and ideas it has received, and is striving to deliver a deeper and more fulfilling experience in part 3. He also expects fans to enjoy the synergy between nostalgia and innovation as they experience the third and final chapter. Hamaguchi added that he expects this three-part remake to become one of the most renowned titles in the history of video games.
Furthermore, the Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy director stated that the Highwind will play an integral role in part 3. While he couldn’t reveal much, he did share that prototyping the Highwind has reached a high level of success, and the development team has been able to create a new and special gameplay experience while traveling the world in the Highwind.
