Epic Games is preparing to launch the first wave of its Halloween 2025 event, Fortnitemares, and this year’s festivities will begin with a crossover featuring the hit Netflix film KPop Demon Hunters. According to well-known Fortnite insider ShiinaBR, the collaboration officially goes live on Thursday, October 2, with the addition of themed character skins and a new limited-time mode.
The highlight of the update is “Demon Rush,” a KPop-inspired variant of the popular Horde Rush mode. Players will face off against waves of enemies in a themed setting, marking a rare occasion where a crossover brings more than just cosmetic items. The collaboration will also introduce skins for Rumi, Mira, and Zoey, with additional KPop Demon Hunter assets reportedly available in custom modes.
Fortnitemares 2025 will roll out in two stages. The first, arriving October 2, introduces the KPop Demon Hunters crossover, Demon Rush mode, and other undisclosed skins, with hints pointing toward Doja Cat as part of the lineup. The second stage, scheduled for October 9, will expand the event with even more collaborations, including Ghostface, Jason Voorhees, Scooby Doo, and potentially the Terrifier franchise. These additions will include Battle Royale content and other surprises that Epic has yet to confirm.
Fortnite insiders note that the event will begin following server downtime at 4 a.m. ET on October 2. A teaser released earlier this week confirmed the countdown, building anticipation within the community. Alongside the KPop collaboration, players can also look forward to the long-awaited return of the Among Us bundle, which is reappearing in the item shop after more than three years.
With Epic Games signaling a packed month of crossovers and seasonal content, this year’s Fortnitemares is shaping up to be one of the most ambitious Halloween events the game has hosted to date.
