“Trek to Yomi” is a side-scrolling action game developed by Flying Wild Hog and published by Devolver Digital. It was released for Windows, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S in May 2022, followed by a Nintendo Switch port in January 2023. The game is set in feudal Japan during the Edo period and follows a young swordsman named Hiroki seeking vengeance after his home village is burned. He enters Yomi, the Japanese underworld, to confront his past foes.

Players have two modes of melee attack: light attacks for quick but lower damage, and strong, heavy attacks with slower execution. A well-timed block can break an enemy’s guard, allowing for a counter-attack. Melee attacks can be combined with directional movements for specific actions, like thrusting or turning to attack enemies from different angles. Players must adapt their combat style based on their opponent’s stance. Your character primarily wields a katana but can unlock new weapons, such as ozutsu, bo-shurikens, and ranged weapons such as bows and arrows as they progress.
