According to the official PlayStation website, Ghost of Yotei has been designed from the ground up for the PlayStation 5 hardware. Atmospheric rendering has also seen improvements, with skies showing twinkling stars and auroras. To add to the immersion, vegetation sways realistically in the wind.

Furthermore, the website has confirmed that Ghost of Yotei will support enhanced performance and visuals on PlayStation 5 Pro, hinting at a Pro-specific mode that possibly delivers better image quality with the help of PSSR (Sony’s AI-based upscaling technology) and frame rates above 60 fps on VRR-supported displays.

The website also makes mention of new mechanics and gameplay improvements for Ghost of Yotei, though no details have been provided in this regard.

During a recent ‘Creator to Creator’ interview with Astro Bot director Nicolas Doucet on Sony’s official YouTube Channel, Sucker Punch producer Brian Fleming talked about Ghost of Yotei building off the work done on Ghost of Tsushima.
