Cygames’ Granblue Fantasy Relink will feature over 100 side quests and can be played entirely in co-op with up to 4 players.

Granblue Fantasy Relink made an appearance at this year’s Anime Expo, where attendees had the opportunity to try it out. During the event, Tetsuya Fukuhara, the general director of Granblue Fantasy, and Yasuyuki Kaji, the director of Granblue Fantasy: Relink, shared new details about the game, including that it will feature over 100 side quests and can be played entirely in co-op with up to 4 players.

According to the new details revealed at the event, Granblue Fantasy Relink features a rich single-player story and offers over 100 side quests. The game can be played entirely in co-op mode, and puts emphasis on high-speed battles, customization, and teamwork. It features a brand new storyline and will, therefore, be welcoming to newcomers. That said, it will still maintain connections to the original game for fans to appreciate. It was said that, in terms of content, the game will offer the complete experience at launch. However, additional endgame content is planned for release later on.

The game flow consists of visiting towns to accept quests and purchase or upgrade gear, traveling via an airship, and engaging in exploration and combat in various stages. The aforementioned stages vary in size, with some being quick to clear and others offering sprawling environments for exploration. At the start of the game, players will have access to six playable characters: The Captain (Gran/Djeeta), Katalina, Rackam, Io, Eugen, and Rosetta. Ferry was showcased as a playable character, with focus on support and crowd control abilities. Characters cannot be changed during battles, but loadouts can be adjusted.

According to FKHR, the game is nearing completion, and further information will be revealed in August. While no specific release date was provided, it was emphasized that the game is essentially finished, with only polishing work remaining.
