Take-Two Reaffirms GTA 6 Is A Single-Player Game

Take-Two Interactive has reaffirmed that Grand Theft Auto VI is a single-player game and confirmed that GTA Online will continue to receive support following the upcoming game’s release. The company shared the clarification during its latest shareholder meeting.

“GTA 6 is a single-player title and is due to release this November. We will continue to support GTA Online after GTA VI release and beyond,” Take-Two said during the meeting.

Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Rockstar Games has not announced a release date for a PC version.

The confirmation also establishes that GTA Online will remain supported after Grand Theft Auto VI arrives. Take-Two did not provide details about what form that continued support will take or when a successor to the existing online experience could be introduced.

GTA Online originally launched alongside Grand Theft Auto V and subsequently became a major standalone component of the franchise. Rockstar later made GTA Online available as a standalone product, allowing players to access the multiplayer experience without purchasing the single-player campaign.
