Halo: The Master Chief Collection Is Suffering From Major Hacking Issues

Halo: The Master Chief Collection fans are reporting that the game has been suffering from major hacking issues.

Several Halo: The Master Chief Collection players have been reporting that the game is riddled with major hacking issues. It turns out that modders have been changing their gamertags to those of other community members through the game, leading to those Xbox users getting permanently banned.

One affected user claims that this has been going on for several years, and hopes that 343 Industries will tackle the issue soon. A content creator states that while the issue has existed pretty much since the launch of Halo: The Master Chief Collection on PC, it has got a lot worse lately. He further stated that creating content has becoming hard now that modders are changing gamertags to those of people in his community, leading to him and his friends getting permanently banned on Xbox.

We’re certainly hoping developer 343 Industries takes note of these security issues in Halo: The Master Chief Collection, and comes up with an effective way of tackling hackers.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection is a compilation of first-person shooter games in the Halo series, originally released in November 2014 for the Xbox One, and later on Microsoft Windows through 2019 and 2020. In November 2020, an improved version was made available on the Xbox Series X/S. Xbox Game Teams released the collection, which was created by 343 Industries in collaboration with other studios. The collection comprises older Xbox systems’ versions of Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, Halo 2: Anniversary, Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST, Halo: Reach, and Halo 4.

Each game added to the Master Chief Collection got an aesthetic improvement, with Halo 2 receiving a special 10-year-exclusive high-definition overhaul of its audio and cutscenes. Access to the Halo: Nightfall live-action series and the short-lived multiplayer beta for Halo 5: Guardians are both included in the game. Every map that was first released with each game is included in the collection’s multiplayer, including six completely new Halo 2 maps.
